The Mental Health First Aid for Intellectual Disability accreditation provides guidance on how to support people with an intellectual disability who are experiencing difficulties associated with mental health problems.

This course piggy-backs the 12 hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course, meaning that the content coverage and structure are generally the same.

This course is primarily for people working in human services who have a base level of mental health literacy and those working in or associated with disability services. However, there is also information in the course and accompanying manual that will help those with little or no experience interacting with someone who has an intellectual disability.

NOTICE: The MHFA for ID accreditation is currently suspended whilst MHFA Australia update

and re structure the course.

Whilst this process is occurring, BLLC is currently running the Standard or Youth MHFA course and working with our clients to integrate all relevant ID content to ensure your team is being supported in their roles, challenges in their understanding and component in their practical application .
