A little insider info...
BLLC is the chosen MHFA provider for The Australian Pharmacy Guild - NSW Branch.
In 2019, our training was recognised at a State dinner held at Parliament House in Sydney.
Not too shabby.
Pharmacists play a key role in supporting the mental health of their community. FACT.
Isn't it remarkable to notice the growth and evolution of the pharmacy profession over the last few decades? Pharmacists are arguably the most accessible healthcare providers available to any general public member and continue to play an ever-growing key role in supporting patients across the health spectrum. In addition, they're often the first point of professional contact for those experiencing a developing mental health problem.
It's more than simply offering a sympathetic ear. A pharmacist is in the unique position to monitor for shifts in medication usage, changes in mood and engagement, and utilise their trusted position in the community to best connect individuals with support networks.
With that in mind, The Blended MHFA for Pharmacy course is essential training for all pharmacists and front-line pharmacy staff.
Powerful learning with a perfect mix of practical strategies and theory
As many pharmacies find it difficult to release staff to attend a standard 12-hour mental health course, the Blended MHFA for Pharmacy training is a uniquely designed course. As the name suggests, participants complete the course in a blended format, combining eLearning plus a follow-up half day face-to-face session. Once both components of the training are completed participants are eligible to receive their Mental Health First Aider Certificate of Accreditation which is valid for three years.
What is this course about and what topics do we cover?
The participants are required to complete the interactive self-paced eLearning component that presents an overview of mental health problems, crises, and illnesses.
